not-really-ramshackle things: peepshow edition

April 3, 2010

The fourth annual Washington Post Peeps Diorama Contest is, of course, not at all ramshackle, but anything that involves the winner making use of “salvaged mattress springs” gets a pass. Check out the whole slideshow in the link and a few of my shadily screengrabbed favorites below.

"For their winning diorama based on the Pixar flick "Up," Michael Chirlin and Veronica Ettle of Arlington constructed a miniature Victorian house from plywood and Popsicle sticks, and placed it atop salvaged mattress springs to give it an airborne quality."

I'm always a sucker for a classic-children's-book-referencing candy sculpture.

I can't even deal with Peeps in goggles.

I appreciate the emerging literary theme.

And if you're still hungry, there's Peepshi.
